Record Records 10th Anniversary

It‘s on a beautiful day like this one that we stop for a moment and look back with the heart sizzling with gratitude and profound love for being here and now. Ten years ago, we didn’t even think about that a tiny little dream would be a full-time job ten years later.

It was in the year of 2007 when Record Records stopped being a dream when one Haraldur Leví Gunnarsson decided to put everything he had to put out music that meant the world to him. Haraldur had been a record store clerk for a few years and followed his instinct that told him to introduce the world to the music he loved.

Over the course of these ten years the Icelandic music landscape has been through many shifts and turns. We’ve seen bands come and go, record stores opening and closing, new trends flourishing and artists we’ve had the honour to see develop and thrive beside us from day one. Deep inside we have always known that we’re onto something good but when the world certifies that our aim is right we feel the feeling of deep gratitude.
