Qween

Qween marked an end of an era and beginning of a new one for one of Iceland’s favorite dance pop outfit Retro Stefson. Qween is the first single from their self-titled third album; it’s also their first full length for Record Records. The original version of the song presents a way more minimal and bare approach to their songwriting style, they still maintain their danceable sound but they’ve moved out the Thin Lizzy’fied harmonic guitar riffage and bygone are all elements of afro pop and funk. The B-Side features a remix by the celebrated producer and the vintage synthesizer wunderkind Hermigervill who also produced their self-titled album.
